A railway from Finsbury to Highgate, with a branch to Alexandra Palace. Now dedicated the Parkland Walk. A note of caution, apparently it is an excellent place to get mugged, so go tooled up! (we mean mobile phones and cameras of course!) I walked with a friend. Apparently there will soon be dedicated wardens patrolling the route, so do check it out... Website with more information. Another one! Mainline looking towards Finsbury Park Station. The line to Highgate used to come across the top of this line by this bridge, from left to right. Start of the walk 'robot' seems to originally have been the base of a piece of railway equipment, with four long threaded bolts out the top (several examples, albeit not so colourful) along the way.
Looking down from the walk at Stapleton Park Road, the site of Stroud Green station. The line below is still in use.
Approaching Crouch End station. The walk has some interesting additions... near station. Crouch End station site Few remaining artefacts One of the two tunnels under Shepherd's Hill, before Highgate. Highgate High Level platforms (directly above Northern Line station) Another view. Alexandra Palace BranchAlexandra Palace old station
